Portanto, é um erro associar o envelhecimento a uma piora inevitável na qualidade de vida do ser humano: Melhor Idade, este é o termo que atualmente define o grupo de pessoas que já atingiram os 60 anos de existência. Em alguns lugares do mundo esse grupo já é mais numeroso que o grupo de pessoas em idade infantil, um fato inédito na história da humanidade…
Baseados em tais razões, o projeto “Lutando por Vidas” e a equipe “Rollo Fight” uniram suas forças para desenvolver no bairro da Penha o projeto “Melhor Idade Vai à Luta”, projeto de Kickboxing (inicialmente), que estréia no próximo sábado, dia 09 de julho, na área de lazer do Penha Shopping, às 10h, por meio de um Aulão aberto a todas as idades.
“Durante 25 anos a Penha foi um dos bairros do estado que mais sofreu com a violência e graças ao trabalho árduo e eficaz das autoridades competentes, este lamentável quadro está solucionado. O projeto Melhor Idade Vai à Luta vem contribuir para a erradicação do Sedentarismo, do Stress, da Baixa-estima e da Depressão, sintomas muito comuns nos idosos da região, desde que estes foram privados do direito de ir e vir”, explica o “Prof. Jorge Turco”, coordenador do projeto de artes marciais “Lutando por Vidas”, vice-presidente da “FKTERJ – Federação de Kickboxing Tradicional do Estado do Rio de Janeiro” e um dos idealizadores do Melhor Idade Vai à Luta.
Com a proposta inicial de se tornar mais uma importante opção dentre alguns projetos que trafegam em prol da qualidade de vida dos idosos da região, outra grande idéia dos realizadores é promover a inter-relação entre gerações, onde os mais jovens possam se sentir estimulados pelos mais maduros e resgatem assim também a auto-estima e o respeito pelos idosos.
“Eu já os considero campeões por chegarem a Terceira Idade, se formos rever os momentos ruins em que passamos na região no passado próximo… O fato de trazermos a luta marcial para a vida deles, é a grande prova de que para superar os desafios, basta apenas estar vivo! Isso também será importante para
o jovem, que às vezes não dá a devida atenção aos seus pais e avós em casa, pois todos irão dividir o mesmo espaço”, ressalta o “Prof. Bruno Santos”, líder da “Equipe Rollo Fight” e também idealizador do Melhor Idade Vai à Luta.
O evento também contará com a participação especial do “Prof. Guilherme” (Equipe Supreme), que fará uma demonstração de Jiu-Jitsu.

Seus primeiros álbuns, “Pieces of a Man’” e “Winter in América”, deram a Heron notabilidade junto à comunidade do Hip-Hop americano, influenciando inclusive o lado ativistas de muitos rappers. Aliás, o grupo de estilo Electrofunk, “COD” trouxe em 1983 às paradas de sucesso o remake do clássico de 1974, “The Bottle”, diga-se de passagem, sucesso absoluto nos bailes de subúrbio do Rio.
Em novembro do ano passado Scott-Heron teria se apresentado em São Paulo – a Meca do Hip-Hop Nacional –, se não fosse o cancelamento de sua vinda por motivos de saúde. O artista aproveitaria este momento para apresentar seu último álbum, “I’m New Here”, e o primeiro em mais de 13 anos, lançado oficialmente nos EUA em fevereiro de 2010.

No início dos anos 70, Kool Herc foi o primeiro DJ a tocar só trechos instrumentais (percussivos) de discos iguais – os breakbeats –, acompanhado de um MC que entretinha o público durante as festas com brados que eram correspondidos por todos. Seus breakbeats continham Hard Funk, Rock, e percussões latinas, ritmos que influenciaram os primeiros instrumentais de Rap. Diga-se de passagem, o seu primeiro breakbeat foi construído à base de duas cópias de Sex Machine, de James Brown. Herc é creditado como o inventor dos termos “B-boy” e “B-girl”, dançarinos que eram incentivados por ele a buscarem o momento dos breakbeats para realizarem
a modalidade de dança de rua que se tornou conhecida como Break Dance. O estilo de Herc soou em todo o Bronx como uma grande novidade, o que influenciou de imediato artistas como “Afrika Bambaataa” e “Grand Master Flash”. Kool Herc também foi o primeiro DJ no bairro a reproduzir a cultura jamaicana das block parties (festas de rua) nas ruas ou estacionamentos de boulevards, arrebatando deste modo, além do público comum, jovens experts em dança, artes plásticas e rimas improvisadas. Ao lado de Afrika Bambaataa e Grand Master Flash, Kool Herc é considerado um dos construtores da Cultura Hip-Hop, em 12 de Novembro de 1974.
Em sua 2ª edição, após um ano de intervalo para aperfeiçoamento, o curso extensivo, promovido pelo PACC – Programa Avançado de Cultura Contemporânea da UFRJ, “Universidade das Quebradas”, reabre suas inscrições para 2011…
Dedicado a produtores, ativistas e/ou artistas de todas as comunidades pobres do Rio de Janeiro, a Universidade das Quebradas é inteiramente gratuita e traz em sua metodologia o ato de provocar propositalmente conflitos positivos entre as culturas periféricas e o meio acadêmico, a fim de que estes conhecimentos distintos se fundam em prol de um saber único e abrangente a todos.
Produzido pela psicanalista e doutoranda em Ciência da Literatura na UFRJ “Numa Ciro” e a editora, crítica literária, pesquisadora e professora titular de teoria crítica da cultura da Escola de Comunicação da UFRJ “Heloísa Buarque de Hollanda”, o curso reunirá produtores culturais e artistas das comunidades do estado, que terão a oportunidade de um contato construtivo com pesquisadores e professores da UFRJ e de outras instituições, em aulas presenciais, semanais com ênfase nas áreas de Literatura, Artes Visuais, Teatro, Dança
e Música, além de um panorama cultural e artístico com vista especial para os séculos 20 e 21, oficinas de leitura e criação, atividades externas, blogs com produções dos participantes, aulas filmadas e transmitidas via Internet.
